'64 Dodge Hemi concept is sculpted art

Just look at this thing. It fills me with pride to know how incredible american concept cars were in the past. Not that there are no modern day examples, but this thing here is simply incredible.

I don’t think there has been a concept car that I’ve wanted to own more than this. Not only is it the birthplace of both the names Hemi and Charger, it’s absolutely a piece of art.

Though I don’t think, even if I owned it, I would test the full 600hp with only drum breaks to slow me down!

Anyone got $1 million+ to spare that I can borrow? :)

Hamsters FTW!

(stolen headline alert)

After Kia's ad agency won Nielsen's Automotive Ad of the Year for their first commercial, they've come back with something that is not only ballsy in approach but also shows that they're willing to go head-to-head with Toasters, err I mean competition that may look like toasters.

I love when companies are have enough confidence in themselves and their products to show why they're better and in this case, far more hip. Even if their version of hip are "Hamstars".

I Love Cars. But for some reason though, I'm not as interested in cars like the new Hennessey Venom GT, the 1200hp, 200mph+ crazy monstrosity, or even the very cool Ford Focus RS500. No, the news today that caught my eye? It's a wagon. As "wagon" as wagons get. Only this time, it's New American wagon. The Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon... bringing with it the "beating heart of a Corvette — a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine delivering 556 HP". All that grunt in a car that the Griswold would be happy to visit Walley World in, makes this the ultimate sleeper.

We, here in American, we generally dislike wagons (perhaps because nightmare road trips some had on their family Vacation) but we're living in an American Auto Rebirth. I can't speak for all enthusiasts, but for me a car like the CTS-V (in any body style) Sport Wagon checks off so many of the right boxes. Practicality, Style, Power (obscene amounts), and to a strong degree, American Pride.

Its been SO long since America has made decent cars. In the mid 2000's, in some very dark times for the Big 3, Caddy lead the charge with the first gen CTS-V, winning many awards and suprising the auto community with it's refined looks, surprising performance, and ability to almost reach zee'Germans. Now with the 2nd generation, Caddy just keeps hitting home runs. Now we have Ford (with Lincoln) and what's left of the GM brands continuing to deliver award winning cars, trucks, and SUVs. I'd (finally) be proud to own an American car and they're all on the top of my list for my next one.

P.S. Those first two cars up top, yeah, both American :)

WTF

I took this while stuck in traffic in Malaysia. It was the 2nd car we saw with "WTF" for a license number. I guess they don't have the same common knowledge of internetisms. Or they just don't care...WTF man.
